Velvet and Pleats

Happy Thursday Friends; this is a very quick post here on the outfit I wore to Church a few Sundays ago; a burgundy color velvet blazer over a grey metallic pleat skirt; a simple and fun outfit. It was a cloudy and windy day and I got quite a laugh from the twirling skirt. Also, I'm quite happy that the pleated skirt trend is here to stay. Let me know if you are a fan of the pleated skirt.

Gingham Style

Hi Friends, how is everyone doing? Welcome back here. I took some days off from the blog and I'm back. These pics were taken last summer and I'm wearing one of my favorite pants. Gingham prints are definitely here to stay and have been trending for a while now. I purchased this pair from Loft about three summers ago and it is presently sold out. As gingham prints trend this spring and summer, this old pair would definitely be in rotation. What are your thoughts on gingham, grid or plaid prints? Yay or Nay? Thanks for stopping by here.

Spring is here and so also is "ruffles." Ruffles is one of  the favorite trends this spring and along with ruffles, came the mules. The style board above is just an example of how these two trends can be put together and of course, the ruffles on ruffles look is definitely an exaggeration but since there is no rules to Fashion these days; it is definitely worth giving it a try.

How to look chic in the last days of Winter

Winter is gradually coming to an end but not without a bang. There were lots of snow storms around the country over the weekend and we pray for God's protection on all who are/were in the path of the storm. After a weekend of cleaning out snow from your cars and driveway, you don't need to go back to work on Monday looking disheveled and tired. A great way to look ready and confident for work is to show up looking polished and great. 'want to look effortlessly chic the last days of winter? Get out all your statement and colored coats and bags and head out with a big smile on your face.

Blog Anniversary and Olive colors

Happy Tuesday Friends and happy 5 years blog anniversary to me. My blog turned 5 last week and I'm really happy and grateful to God that I'm still here doing what I love. This blog was started in 2012 as a hobby and an outlet for me to express my love for writing and Art. It was and has always been a personal (public) journal of mine and has been very therapeutic. I have grown better over the years and have made great friends through blogging. I have also learned a lot too. I am celebrating my anniversary today with a throwback to some of my unusual color combination posts; the khaki and olive color combo. And like I always say; I am not a stylist or professional blogger so, I am not teaching anyone how to dress here but just showing my own personal styles and how I have fun with trends and my styling boards on Polyvore. I have also been showing my love for God and my Christian faith and sharing scriptures along the way which is very fulfilling for me.

Thanks so much to everyone that has stopped by here over the years and have left comments, questions and thoughts. The interaction has made blogging so much fun. Right now, I intend to keep blogging but would take breaks now and then when I need to. I have blogged every day of the work week; Monday through Friday since the beginning of this year and I feel it is time now for a break. So, if you do not see a post here for a while, just know that I'm okay and just taking a break. Again, thanks a lot for your readership and great support and till the next post; I love you for reading.

Sleeves Week - Style boards

Still on the matter of dramatic sleeves; need some help styling this trend for work or play, Monday through Friday? Look no further as these style boards would give you great ideas. There are so many options to choose from that you can have a different kind of dramatic sleeve for every day of the week. How about doing tie-sleeves and a pleated skirt for Monday? which is a very formal look and gradually building the drama for the week with a ruched sleeves for Tuesday and balloon sleeves for mid-week?

Trumpet sleeves on a pencil skirt can go well with Thursday and casual Friday can be very casual with a white bell sleeves top and a cute pair of denim pants. If you are into this trend; then look forward to enjoying the trend way into spring because it seems like it is going nowhere for now. Happy Monday 😃

One Skirt; three Seasons

             LOOK 1                                            LOOK 2                                       LOOK 3

Happy Friday Friends; woot!! tgif!!! (thank God it's Friday) The post for today showcases how I transition  one of my midi skirt from one season to the next. The midi skirt pictured here is one of my favorites because of the beautiful unique prints and I have worn it with boots, pumps and sandals for winter, spring and summer. Click on the links below the pics to see the original post. What are your plans for the weekend? Mine involves cleaning out my closet and getting ready for the new season and attending a couple of birthday parties and this means it is time to start losing the winter layers and wearing more casuals. Thanks for stopping by here and have a beautiful and blessed weekend.

Yellow Coat + Burgundy color Booties

Hi Friends; Happy new Month; I'm so excited for the month of March and the upcoming spring season. I'm already thinking of ways to incorporate color into my spring wardrobe and one way I plan to do this is by styling my burgundy color booties blogged about HERE with some of my spring pieces as shown in this post.

This yellow cropped jacket is an old piece but very much treasured and I like how it brings instant burst of color to my outfit. The jacket can also be worn by itself as a top and can also be layered on other pieces and this makes it a winner in my book. I love it when clothing items can be styled in different ways. The peplum style of the jacket also makes it so unique. I know this is one jacket I would hold unto for a long time. How are you planning on adding color to your spring wardrobe? Happy Thursday and thanks so much for reading.
